Why… were you using the mouse to control your movement in cyberspace instead of the keyboard? Didn’t that just lead to lots of frustration and make you want to pull your beard out? XD

But yeah, with System Shock 2 on GOG now I’m not surprised you finally got around to covering the original! ; )

Also, your condolences are definitely felt by the floppy version owners. In fact, that’s a part of the reason why the game didn’t sell as well as it could’ve. When the CD version came out, people already had the taste of the floppy version in their mouths, so the point was missed as to just how much more awesome the CD version was. I played both versions back in the day and the floppy version didn’t hold my interest even a tenth as well. : P

Sucks. I got the floppy version as well, but turns out a couple of the disks are damaged 😦
Was not happy at all to find that out.
