You just know that this was a big swing and a miss for EA, if even a diehard SimCity fan can’t recommend it. At least not as it is, and not for full price.

  2. GreyBudgie says:

Great Review SIMCity is great fun at first, until you start questioning what’s going on underneath, then you find out just how broken some of the important mechanics are.
I Hit population Ceiling around density 3 and start seeing all the AI failing on a massive scale gets frustrating after putting 4-5 hours into playing your city then watch it grind to a halt

I’ve been waiting for this review ever since I saw “SimDRM” in the background of your Sims University Life review. Watching this disaster unfold over the last 10 days has been more entertaining than playing SimCity. So I guess I can thank Maxis/EA for that much at least.

  4. Robert says:

Typical EA. They have ruined the NCAA football series and now they are trying to destroy their other IP. Your comment of SimDRM was gold and aptly placed. Good review.

  5. gamewizard says:

If the game had been cheaper (say $30), would you have given it a recommend (like Duke Nukem 64 from your Duke Nukem Retrospective)?

  6. James B says:

Maybe, similar to SimCity 4, there will be an expansion pack or plan patch to make the game more complete? By complete I mean, larger cities, have movable and separate on and off ramps for the highway, and the ability to play offline (with limitations).
