What happens when you combine a typical computer mouse and a trackball input device? You get an odd piece of hardware that never caught on.

    I’m having trouble figuring out which is more useless: This device, or that eraser-type-thingy IBM stuck in their laptop keyboards in place of a trackpad. x_x;
    .
    Just out of curiosity, any specific reason for the major hair-cut or just felt like having it done?

    microsoft had a similar device out in the early 2000’s under the sidewinder label, for FPS and 3d games. Just an oversized mouse on a base, a number of buttons and the twistyness of it served for turning.

    Too bad I cant remember the name of the stupid thing, someone gave me one that was nearly brand new and it sat in my trunk for 5 years before I gave it to some other sucker.

    Great video. I learned something because I had never heard of this thing before. It is an odd device. No wonder it never caught on…

    You should check out the Logitech Cyberman. It seems to be a similiar device but an attempt to be combination of mouse and a joystick. Shadowcaster (PC) is a game wich actually supported play with this particular device. I have only seen pictures of it and read about it, never held it, never used it.
